Supervised exercise that helps you move better, for longer
Exercise Physiology uses exercise like a treatment plan. It’s commonly used to support recovery, manage ongoing health conditions and improve day-to-day function, especially when you want clear guidance on what to do and how to build up strength safely.
In Australia, an accredited Exercise Physiologist is the highest qualified health professional for exercise prescription. They assess you first. This information is used to plan and progress your program so you can move better, for longer.

Services
Your program is designed around what you need. Your Exercise Physiologist will choose the right exercises and the right format to help you progress, including:
- 1:1 exercise-based sessions
- Small group classes
- Hydrotherapy
- Gym sessions at your local gym
- A home exercise program
What to Expect
At your initial assessment, your Exercise Physiologist will take you through an extensive assessment to get to know you so they can best develop your exercise program, including:
- Your health history and what’s bringing you in
- Your personal goals
- Blood pressure, heart rate and biometric testing
- Range of movement and strength testing
From there, your Exercise Physiologist develops an individualised program. This may include clinic sessions, a home program, gym-based or pool-based exercise and practical ways to manage symptoms.
Exercise that won’t flare you up
If you’ve avoided exercise because gyms feel intimidating, or past programs have flared things up, Exercise Physiology is different. It’s supervised, tailored exercise with a pace that makes you feel good and adjusted as you improve.

FAQs

Do I need to be fit to start?
No. Your program starts at your current capacity. It progresses as you build strength to remain challenging.
What happens in the first appointment?
Your EP completes an initial assessment. This may include health measures and movement testing. You also discuss goals and capacity.
Is it just gym training?
Not always. Your program may include clinic sessions or hydrotherapy. It may also include home exercise or your local gym.
What conditions can an EP support?
EPs can support chronic conditions and injury recovery. They can also support chronic pain management. They can guide exercise for general health goals.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on your goals and starting point. Your EP will outline options after your assessment. Your plan may change as you progress.
