Gym Rehabilitation

Gym Rehabilitation

Gym Rehabilitation is an effective way to prevent injury, promote tissue healing and improve performance.

Whether you’re hoping to recover from an injury, or to improve sport specific performance, a tailored Gym Program can be beneficial to boost your body’s capacity, allow you to move with less pain and less difficulty, and become stronger.

At Enhance Physiotherapy we believe movement is the key to healing. We are a specialised group of Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists who live to stay fit and healthy ourselves so understanding complex gym movements and the function behind movement patterns makes Enhance Physiotherapy the right choice for gym rehabilitation.

A specialised Gym Program will target specific muscles in order to build strength, improve movement and increase your body’s ability to perform and cope with specific tasks. The Enhance Physiotherapy team will help you to progress through your rehabilitation with individualised training and guidance.

What are the benefits of a Gym Rehabilitation Program?

  • Quicker recovery and return to activity post injury
  • Improving sporting or athletic performance
  • Injury prevention
  • Injury management
  • Lifestyle benefits such as improving daily function
  • Managing chronic conditions (i.e. rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, chronic diseases)
  • Pain relief for a huge variety of conditions, including chronic pain.

Our practices are equipped with an onsite gym where our team can develop a program that is unique for you, based on your goals and your expectations. Our Enhance Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists closely monitor your movement technique, meaning that you are always performing safe and effective exercises that are appropriate for your body. Direct supervision allows immediate technique correction. Once you’re comfortable performing a variety of exercises you are then able to complete your program outside the Enhance Gym in your own time.

We pride ourselves on delivering individualised programs that can identify and correct muscle imbalance or altered movement patterns. By addressing these, we can both improve your performance and reduce your pain. Our individual programs are specifically designed based on your body and your goals. Exercise Physiology

Gym Rehabilitation

An Exercise Physiologist is an Allied Health Professional who specialises in the benefits of exercise prescription to help patients improve health and wellbeing, get fitter or treat patients with a medical condition through exercise. Our Enhance Exercise Physiologists are experienced in designing effective exercise programs and helping people develop healthy lifestyle behaviours for the prevention, management and treatment of a multitude of health conditions and injuries as well as improving your overall health.

Is a Personal Trainer and an Exercise Physiologist the same?

Simple answer, no. An Exercise Physiologist is university trained and has a vast knowledge of the human body and the benefits that exercise has on it, both mentally and physically.

How do they differ from Physiotherapists?

Commonly, there is some confusion distinguishing between a Physiotherapist and an Exercise Physiologist. Physiotherapists generally focus on the diagnosis of acute or chronic injuries and treating pain to improve function. Exercise physiologists prescribe evidence-based movements for chronic disease prevention and management of injuries. Together at Enhance Physiotherapy, our Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists work together to provide you with a high level of care to aid you throughout your recovery to achieve your goals.
