Exercise During Pregnancy

Pregnancy and Childbirth put a massive stress on the body, and it is common to experience problems with lower back pain and/or incontinence during this time.

These problems occur due to changes in the biomechanics of your spine and stabilising muscles during pregnancy. Luckily there are plenty of exercises that you can do to improve the stability in your core as well as achieve a stronger pelvic floor. Our Physiotherapists can advise you on the safest and most effective way to perform this kind of exercise, as well as giving general advice regarding exercising safely during and after pregnancy.

At Enhance Physiotherapy we run antenatal and postnatal group exercise classes to give you a fun and interactive way to get started!

Pre and post-operative

Your rehabilitation will be individualised based on the procedure performed, your specialist’s preferences, and your personal rehabilitation goals – be it to return to sport, work or to pain free daily activities.

Appropriate post-op rehabilitation is important in achieving the optimum outcome from your procedure and in minimising the risk of complications. Post op exercise rehab usually commences in hospital the day after your surgery under the guidance of a physiotherapist and continues once you are discharged home.

Work Related Injuries

Our physiotherapists apply an active model to the rehabilitation of work related injuries. We aim to restore the injured worker back to full function as quickly as possible.

Individuals who wish to be billed under Worker’s Compensation need to have a referral letter to Enhance Physiotherapy from their GP, as well as an insurance claim number.
